I wanted to share the attached that the great and late "Dr. John B. Ervin" wrote almost 25 years ago and it is still true today. It is my hope that we will take the village approach and help the students and parents to get on the proper college timelines along with scholarships, internships, summer programs, fellowships, etc.
I personally push so hard because "my people perish because of lack of knowledge and information". This principal applies ot all parts of life that we encounter. It is very sad to see so many opportunites that are provided that are missed because we want followup or share with others within the deadline for them. Many times because we have our personal timelines and don't want to receive or accept the assistances from others, we get left behind. I was told through an Elder at my church, many years ago that God was going to bless me with so much information to give to others because he knew I would share it with others and not hold on to it. I recieve his blessing and currently I am doing as it was told of me to do. My hope is that you all would take the extra step and help our students/parents anyway. It doesn't make a difference if you don't have kids, but in the end, we are our brother's keeper.

If Black America couldn't accumulate mainstream wealth through integration, diversity, politics, education and/or religion after 400 years, we must do the next best thing --- create wealth outside of the mainstream within our Black communities. It's time to be coming from out the box!
